Default Help needed; Steering setup with Jim Meyer IFS

I bought a 57 frame that has a Jim Meyer IFS and now need to figure out what steering components to get for it. I called Martz & asked if their "Steering u-joint kit & column clamp kit" will work with the JM IFS and the guy said "I have no idea"...maybe I need to call back and hopefully get someone just a bit more knowledgeable ?

http://martzchassis.net/c1-corvette/...nsion-systems/

I'm sure many of you have already traveled this road so please give me some direction.

Thanks-
Ryan22

I recall forum member firstgear (Herb Turner I think) doing this several years ago. You might get in touch with him by forum messaging. Here is a link to a thread showing the Meyer front end he installed, he had about 500 pictures on fotki.

I still have the instructions that came with my 1953-62 Jim Meyer IFS kit.

Here are some photos I took of the JMR instructions you might find useful.

That looks like a Fox body Mustang rack.

Several aftermarket front ends use Mustang 2 racks.

After looking at the Martz steering setup... I'm willing to bet that you could modify the Martz setup to work with the JMR IFS.

The rack and pinion looks to be roughly in the same location with both kits.

The Martz steering support bracket that bolts-on at the OEM steering box location looks to be a similar design to the JMR bracket.

I guess the real question is ....How much of a hot rodder are you?
