Yup...The Pertronix unit died in my '64. I've had the ignition installed for about three years. Fortunately, it was when I attempted to start it to put in the driveway for a wash. She spun & spun, but wouldn't fire. I checked for fuel delivery - yup, then checked for spark - nope! Removed the Pertronix stuff, then installed the points & condenser, rewired the ballast resistor, after which, she fired right off. Now she's back to being an old-fashioned, points-type kinda car again.
Was this a Pertronix I, II or III?
