Default Fix for inaccurate gauges

Among the benefits of owing a bunch of different cars is that I belong to several clubs. One of them, the Chrysler 300 Club had a discussion about aftermarket fuel and temp sensors. One fella presented us with this device for matching senders to instruments.
Take a look. Love to hear your thoughts.

It would be interesting to get the full capability specification from the manufacturer. If it could do more than a three or four point linear interpolation, it would help about every C1 and C2 owner on this forum who doesn't have a functional original or NOS temperature gauge sender. Heck even a four pointer would be better than a lot of replacement senders.

That's potentially a solution to the inaccurate temp sender problem due to poor thermistor calibration and/or thermal run-away.

Whether or not it would actually be a solution depends on the amount of current the device flows through the sending unit. The current needs to be low enough that it doesn't induce self heating and thermal run-away in the thermistor. Even better, if the sender is powered by a constant current source, thermal run-away becomes impossible.

I built a similar device a few years ago.

Mine powers the sender from a constant current source like I just mentioned, and drives the gauge by a programmable current source. In between is an Arduino programmed to measure the sensor Voltage and compute the gauge current to be output. A heuristically developed curve-fitting equation allows me to calibrate the gauge with only two points and it tracks accurately between those two points.

Anyway, the main point is that MeterMatch could be a good solution.
