I had this happen today. I went down to title and register my 63 in the new state that I have just moved too. I just got a regular tag and not an antique tag. When we were all done the lady handed me my paperwork and tag. The tag was on the bottom of the paperwork so I did not look at it at the time. When I got home I looked at it and low and behold my new plate is my exact VIN #. When I say exact I mean exact since my VIN is earlier that 10,000 it ends in four digits just like my new plate ends in the same four digits. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else. It was just a random next up plate and there were three clerks working the windows and all were busy with customers. I just got lucky. What are the odds.

Wow! that's cool! (Can you imagine if you had gotten out the door and seen it was the next number BELOW your VIN? )
Don that is funny that you should say that because I also registered my 67 at the same time and it is the plate one digit BELOW my 63, so now both my 67 and 63 are consecutive. Can you imagine if my 67 had gotten that tag instead.

That is cool. When I got plates for my wife’s old car I put them on and two days later it hit me that the numbers were the exact same as my work id number. Not the same as a vin but was still kind of cool.

Yes Chris I would have the same reaction to that coincidence. Very rare occurrence.
When we moved into the house we are in now I was just a Porsche guy, no Corvette's. After being in the house for a while I realized our street address was 8911 and the new to me home office phone number from ATT ended in 0928. I owned a 911 and a 928 at the time.....

Yep same kind of thing. I find this very interesting.
Best I could do is when I randomly got the 'OMY 502' plates for my '69 Camaro, which had a base model 327..... I was sure it was a sign that I needed an upgrade in the engine department...... lol

Best comparison yet. That is what I call thinking out of the box.
