Default Solid lifter question

Ive chosen the LT1 cam for my rebuilt engine. I noticed the new solids come with a small hole on the lobe surface.

Anyone have experience with these? Pros or Cons?

Great thing, the small edm hole on the lifter. Helps with oiling to the lobe/lifter contact point. Definitely something you want to have these days. I am running the LT-1 cam in my 62 340 horse car. You will like that cam.

agree I’ve used them for years. I suppose someone could argue about oil flow diversion, but I’ve never experienced any issues, that said, I’ve always use high-volume/ L-88 oil pumps. (I’ve used them successfully/without issues, in small blocks as well)

When you compare orifices, the rockers still win. Great mod to have!

I used the Crower version of these on a 427 Ford side oiler a few years ago to hopefully provide a bit of extra protection for the sft cam. Seemed to work out very well.

I used EDM lifters with an LT-1 cam on my recent build. Only a few miles on the engine, but so far so good.

I have an actual LT-1 in my 61.. with the stock edge orifice lifters.
I believe they used these to limit the amount of oil in the top of the motor under long, high-RPM runs.
Too much of a good thing!
