It's been awhile since I've posted about my 65. I've peeled back the front end to replace the rusted windshield frame a while ago, then rebuilt the engine, trans, frame, and rear end..... then life got in the way....since then I hung the doors and purchased new lower fenders. I am currently fitting everything before bonding the front back on...Here's a few pics just because! Cheers!
No, I was just using them to line up and adjust the door gaps before I bond the top surround on. While I had the front end off, I wanted to replace the fenders due to the previous owner "booger-ing" them up to install side-pipes. ( They were too far gone). My car was an A.O. Smith car...I went back to under car exhaust.
Very thorough refurbishment on what's already been done. Keep finding the time. You'll get there. When you do you will have one great looking and performing '65 convertible.
Thanks for the kind words 3Jsvette and easy rhino! It's been a long ride, but a fun one as well. I've been meticulously rebuilding every part of it. It's actually a L79 350 HP, ( I know that I do have a few items on the engine that are incorrect). And, it's original color is M - M...Milano maroon. It's been painted a time or two by the original owner, but I'm torn between those colors, as I like the Goldwood yellow as well!
Hey Vince, very nice work. Have you ever been up to Prescott for the Annual Corvette Show in late September? Even if your 65 roadster isn't ready, maybe you'll find the time to come on up. I've got a few Corvette friends in the Phoenix/Scottsdale valley and a number of them are planning on attending. As expected, out of the 300 or so Vettes to make the show, maybe 15-20 percent of them are 67 and earlier Vettes but it's a good show anyway.
As for the color choice, that's strictly a personal decision. I have '4' midyears and 3 out of the 4 are original colors including the Maroon over Maroon 65 Roadster but my Black 65 300 Horse Coupe started out Blue on Blue but it needed a ton of work and...back to the personal preference thing...I really like Black over Black.

Mike, I've been there for the show one time a few years back. I go to Prescott often as I am only an hour away from where I live. Being an AZ native, I plan on retiring in Prescott! Your collection is amazing! Milano Maroon will likely be my choice as it is the original color. I would love to hook up sometime when I'm up there or when you're down here!
Vince - Sounds like a plan. I'll send you my contact info via email and anytime you find yourself up 'north', contact me and do stop in.

Love your street. A pickup row! That C2 looks great with them.
That car of yours is going to be wonderful. Just one piece of advice. The most important cabinet in your garage is the one your keep your "Motivation" in. Leave it unlocked and jammed full!
Keep up the amazing work.
