Need an assist with my hood adjustment for the latch / catch mechanism on my 67
Once I push it down to the lock position it is almost a 3 man task to get it open again
someone pulling the release handle and two people pulling the hood from side to side or from up under with a huge pry bar
is the spring loaded male portion supposed to line up directly in the center of the latch receiver ???
Thanks in advance
Take some aluminum foil, fold it over to double thickness, tape across the top of the female holes on the latches and slowly lower the hood to dimple the foil to mark the contact point. Adjust as needed so that pins are centered, recheck, and you are done. That's the way I have always done it and it works for all the Vettes. Or you can buy a specialty tool you will likely only use once.
Also, make sure your cables are adjusted tight enough so when you pull it gives a full opening.
