yes please, that looks like it would make this job much more likely to be successful. I’m going to give it a shot with less sophisticated tools this evening after the penetrating oil had a day to soak in but im not very hopeful it will be that easy.
Ok looks like member @Tcheairs38655 had it last, send him a private message, about mailing you the socket. Then all I ask, is when someone else needs it, you mail it to them. It's been moving around the country since 2018.
Nice find. Good luck. Can you post some interior pics?
I also recently bought an unrestored ‘66 427-390 coupe that had been virtually unused for at least 35 years I also had known the car a long, long time, as it was owned by a friend. It has about 55K miles and still has its original engine. Interestingly, it was also originally silver and was painted red in 1969.
Great looking car, I'd love to have NOM coupe to play with!! I had a socket made to remove those damn bolts on my 64, its been making its way around the country for years now if you need to use it I'll check my PM's and see who has it if you'd like. My bolts had never been out & it took all my might & a long breaker bar while using this socket to get mine to budge. I was amazed they didn't break, cuz I've broken many bolts with much less effort previously but they came out just fine eventually.

I checked and I shipped the socket to Tcheairs38655 back in 2020.

Oops.....just saw you already posted that info.
Your interior is interesting. I have a 66 Silver/Silver coupe and my carpet is also silver (or light gray). I wonder if the carpet color was different based on exterior color or if your carpet was replaced with black. Seems like I'm always finding out something new about these cars.

love the blue on silver interior. even though I highly doubt the trim tag shows that. it still looks very good.
It was born silver/silver the original silver paint is under the blue - you can still see it in a few places around the jams and where there’s a few rock chips.
If I ever do paint the car would prob go back to silver but right now it’s just right for driving without worrying about adding a rock chip here or there.

Carpet in this car was certainly replaced by PO, he must have opted for black. Was wondering if originally it would have been silver or grey.
