Can't tell other than a Chevy small-block. You'd need to post the casting numbers on the top of the bell housing flange for the block; the casting numbers under the valve covers for the heads; and finally the casting number of the intake manifold behind the carb (I think). With this info you'll receive replies that are "most likely an XYZ from 19xx-19xx"
Also report whatever is stamped on the RH block deck just ahead of the front face of the head. Snap; a photo without the air cleaner so we can see the carb and PCV system.
The valve covers are for the 350 engine. They will fit heads back to 1960. The oil fill cap is the identifier for these V/C s
....it looks to me like something you would find in a C3 or C4. Could it possibly be a 283? Looks like the intake manifold is an aftermarket Edelbrock. I wont be able to check those other numbered areas in person for a while yet. Generally speaking, I guess it wont be eligible for a Bloomington Top Flite eh?

It certainly could be a 283. However there is no way to know based on the video. You need the block casting number, the engine assembly code on the pad, the casting number for the heads, and the casting number of the intake. And even armed with those numbers, you'll know only what the engine was at one time, not what it is now.

Not C4 but could be early C3. I think the intake is stock GM cast iron. It could be anything from a 283, a 327, or a 350 – just can't tell without more detailed photos. Perhaps not BG or Top Flight as it sits, but you really can't know what its potential is from just this video.
No breather tube in the intake manifold in front generally indicates a large journal block (68 +). The rear breather port cannot be seen so who knows if it exists. The kickdown cable looks like a 70's issue used with the 350 trans. The intake for sure is not C1 or C2. The PCV in the valve cover also is something typically used after 1967 when the crankcase breather tube and rear port were eliminated. As stated above, learn how to locate the suffix code and go to NastyZ28,com or Mortec.com and you will know exactly what the block was intended for, HP, carb, transmission.

I know for certain that the intake is a Edelbrock and the tranny is an automatic. It will take some time till I can get those engine numbers however. Perhaps I should run a "Guess that engine poll". What should the winner get?
