We're going to need more than that to offer an opinion! I have 7 inch wide (17's) on my C2 . . . with 4 inches of backspacing. The backspacing is the critical number!
Zero offset G-body 7-inch Rally wheels have insufficient clearance to the ends of the rear leaf spring. If you use the Corvette unique '68 7-inch Rally Wheels that have negative 0.28" offset and want to mount OE diameter tires like 215/70R-15 or 225/70R-15 tires you will have to cut off the horizontal fender lips at all four corners in addition to the front fender bonding strip lower flange.
First I Am looking at New wheels I have A 67 coupe looking at 15" tires rims are seven inch's wide will they fit inside wheel well without rubbing
The C2 forum has an abundance of posts relating to wheel types torque thrust D, KO wheels, Cragar wheels, 15, 17 diameters etc., that show the look in most cases on the car. Many posts will also discuss back spacing requirements, rubbing, and the like. Many have found the search tool on the forum not as good as a google search with "C2 forum" in the search line.
I would first look at the type of wheel you like and then see how putting it on the C2 was achieved based on many of the prior posts here on the C2 forum. There is a tremendous amount of good information here. If that doesn't help, you can always post questions for your particular need.
I had the 7 inch x 15 Rally Wheels on our '65 - they were + 6mm, not negative 6mm (which is 0.28 inches) and they fit OK for about 100 miles of "normal" driving on so-so roads. We changed them out for TorqThrust II's at 6 inches because I thought they were a bit too close, but they did not rub. Tires were and are Cooper 205x15. I think the '68 Corvette is +6, not -6mm, but I know ours were +6mm.
