Default 1958 door post installation

I want to replace the door posts on my 58, very rusty and pitted. Other than removing the door panels, does anything else, such as the window have to be removed to replace these. Also does anyone know the cost of re chrome vs new posts?

If I recall you can get the windshield posts out without removing the glass. I paid a total of $384 for the pair, to have my 2 posts re-chromed in 2021

The door posts can be removed as you described. ST12 manual has procedure on removal and alignment. Good time to replace the gaskets also.

Last pair I had done wss a couple years back and $150 ea if I remember correctly..........

Based on my experience with the fit of reproduction parts the cost of re-chroming the originals is worth any savings you may get with repop parts
