Default Lights

Coming home from a car show last night my dash lights and taillights went out. Everything else worked so I think it was a switch. This happened a few years ago and I replaced the headlight switch purchased from NAPA. I have all new Lectric Limited harnesses so I think I have another bad switch. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same thing happen on my '61. The tail lights and the dash lights go through the same fuse. The problem was that the connectors for that fuse in the fuse box were corroded. The corrosion caused the fuse to to heat up and blow the fuse. I had the same problem again with the high beam breaker in my 1985 Renault Alliance. In both cases I cleaned the connectors, applied some dielectric grease and the problem never arose again.

Never, Never, wash that engine on that Renault!
You will have to replace the ECU if you do…

Thanks, I found my problem was the switch itself, Changed the switch and all is well.
