Default Bonding lower center dash question

I am reinstalling my dash and looking for help on how to bond the lower center part of the dash to the body. The U shaped bracket that bonds the dash to the body stayed attached to the dash on one side. I have to re-bond on that side and bond the U bracket to the body. Never done anything like this before. What to use? It's not a show car, so doesn't have to be official Corvette bonding. Thanks in advance.

Mine came apart with just the dash glass. The factory black adhesive stayed with the floor. So, I put a small amount of resin and ground glass on the floor bond where the dash contacted the bond. If it ever needs to come out, the original bond is still there.

A little dab of regular JB Weld will work - just don’t overdo it in case it needs to come back out in the future.

My first reaction was JB Weld, which I have used successfully on metal, but wanted to check with the experienced folks. Thanks for the replys.

When I reinstalled mine, I didn’t use anything either. Like Nowhere Man said, the horseshoe console will hold it in.

Keith, I can understand there isn't a big need for solid attachment. Did any of yours have any rattle or squeak? I'm wondering about a gloop of weatherstrip adhesive or similar, it wouldn't be permanent but would just snug the parts together. I'll be dealing with this in the not-too-distant future I'm hoping.

I think he's saying after he and his Dad did work on them, not saying they came from the factory that way. Or am I mis-reading?

with the weight of the radio and the console in place the lower dash is not going anywhere. there is a grove in the tunnel if fits into. it makes no extra noises. what I am saying is I know they all left St louis glued I can bet a good many cars that where restored or had the dash out where not glued back in
