Hey folks, I am in the process of buying my first Vette, a 63 Convertible and pretty pumped about it. Quick questions, the radio is shot, no big deal. What is a good sound system upgrade. Also she does not have a/c. Since I live in Texas a/c is pretty much a must!!! What is a good aftermarket system?
Welcome AbnTop. Some members will say to rebuild
the stock radio. Others will say find yourself a aftermarket
radio company like Antique Automobile Radio. Many of the members like
Vintage Air for AC. I live where it is hot and AC in a vette is a good thing.
Good luck
Congrats on the new car. Post up some pics when you can. If you want to stay stock looking, you can get unit as listed by road pilot. My car is not being put back together original so I’m going with 1000 watt amp with a 10” sub and additional speakers. As far as A/C, most use vintage air but check out the thread above. If you decide on Vintage Air, be aware they have been back ordered. Hopefully they have some in stock. I ordered mine in December and it arrived late April or early May.

Thanks!!!
Buy a JBL WiFi speaker and put in the back, $100. Provided you have good cell reception it will sound so much better than any radio in the dash.
