While I understand your thought process, I think it's a little bit off track because of the significant depreciation from new to '75.
Here's the value comparing '62 to '75 dollars:
Your $2000 purchase price shows the $6400 depreciation of the car - generally speaking. I think your '75 to '22 calculation also shows what a deal Corvettes were during this era. They really were just used cars.
Now consider new '62 to '22 - not nearly as disparate to today's pricing.
