On my 67 L79 I want to change to power brakes. In examining what I have now, the break distribution switch is attached to the car via a stamped metal bracket.
The bracket is visible here, bolted to the top of the distribution switch.
It occurs to me that when I install the power booster, I will have to move the brake lines forward. This in turn necessitates moving the brake distribution switch. At that point the bracket holding the switch will be too short. I checked the AIM and repair manual and do not see this bracket. I would like to get a longer bracket to accommodate the forward moved distribution switch. Can anyone enlighten me as to where to get one or even if they exist?
For '67, according to the AIM, bracket #3910797 was used for all brake installations except J56. (UPC 5, B1, UPC J50, A1) . Because it connects to the bolt(s?) of the master cylinder it doesn't matter power or not.
(The circle 6 call-out was a changed part number on 8/22/66.)
