Bought the car for her, finally got it done ( if they ever are) after 3 years thanks to the information provided by some incredibly knowledgeable people on this forum. She loves it and only she drives it except, of course when I'm working on it.........It's her "Little Red Corvette"

My wife will always help when asked. It's usually small stuff as Dennis said but has never declined to help. She also has long hauled 8 Power Tours with me and a trip to Cruisin the Coast. She always drives some on those trips as well. 👍

I've got a friend that's usually around for the big stuff but she does want to help with the small stuff. But the biggest help of all (as I'm only months away from retirement) she went back to work full time and said to use her checks to finance the body off restoration! "Get it done we want it in retirement".

My wife won't even ride in my vettes let alone lend a hand. After we first got married, I took her for a ride in my 63 SWC (340 hp, 4 spd) and "banged" the gears a little which scared the pee out of her and she hasn't been back since.
It's nice and peaceful in the garage now.

Nice car, nice co-pilot, nice scenery. How did you manage to take that without 8 other vehicles and a dozen assorted pedestrians in the shot? Nothing worse than waiting for that one other car to leave - and then somebody else pulls in before you can get the picture!

That reminds me of what happened just yesterday.

My wife and I are thinking about buying a used C7. She was out with her sister at a dealership looking at one and the salesman said, "Is this for your husband?"

She immediately left. She was pissed.

See OP #10. I forgot a very BIG helping fact about the '67. In the mid '80's I had a Red '74 Formula Firebird SD-455. All the bells etc. The power and style superseded the Vette and one of the guys at my VFD stations wanted the Vette. My girlfriend (now wife) said I would regret the sale. She persisted and I listened. That was a BIG help!. I have thanked her several times over the years. Dennis

My wife shows up when the hard work is usually done, but she will occasionally help like when I’m freaking out holding 800 pounds of drivetrain over a thin aluminum body!

My wife will help if asked nicely and there is nothing on tv and her latest magazine has not arrived. She likes cars though. Always ready to go to car shows and thigs like that. When we met 50 years ago or so she said she had a Camaro. I was expecting a powder blue 6 cyl automatic. It was a black on black V8 with a Hurst T handle 4 speed and a tack hanging off the column.

So nice to see so many positive comments and stories from Forum members. My wife has pretty much zero interest in working on Corvettes and it has been a rare need for me to ask for her help in the way-more-years-than-I-care-to-admit-to restoring my 69 and the two years I now have into my 62 frame up restoration.

BUTTTTTT (to quote DZAuto) she is just the greatest wife of all time because she has encouraged (i.e. pushed) me to spend the money on and invest the time in restoring two, decades-old Corvettes, told me to go work in the garage rather than do something around the house that she'd like done, etc. She also pushed me to order a C7 coupe when they first came out and to do the (then-available) Buyer's Tour and Museum Delivery. She spent two days at the assembly plant walking alongside our C7 as it was being built and shed tears of joy seeing how happy I was (okay, I cried too).

I couldn't ask for a more wonderful, selfless and supportive spouse who's always willing to forego something so that I could have/do something else. Even if she doesn't have grease under her nails. Like you, I'm very grateful.

My wife has been know to assist in the dreaded brake bleeding ritual and give a had installing or removing the hood. She also enjoys going to car shows such as Cruisin' the Coast.

My wife found out early what life with a "car guy" would be like. I had known her less than a year when I enlisted her to chain-tow me bringing back the '66 Chevy truck I had bought. It was probably about 150 miles and she had never towed before. Somehow even that didn't scare her off, we got it done and she didn't leave. Helping on a Corvette is mild compared to that!

My wife likes the old car hobby almost as much as I do. She will help in the garage anytime I ask with a smile. She goes to shows and cruise-ins all the time with me so bought her a Corvette of her own, well three so far.
I am a very lucky guy.
