Has anyone bought radiators from ALLOYWORKS. I have a Dewitt aluminum radiator and electric fan but my car still over heats..
350 sbc
Elecbrock top end kit
Holly EFI
Headers… etc
Thanks..
Unless your dewitts is clogged I'd start looking elsewhere for the cause of your overheating. A properly installed Dewitts (meaning fan shroud, proper fan, baffling and sealers in place) is hard to beat. I use them in all of my cars and different ones I work on and have had no issues.
Other areas to look are timing, mixture, vac advance, stuck thermostat.
Is the 350 a standard bore or has it been overbored?
Is your overheating evidenced by boil over or the temp gauge reading? Temp gauges / senders are sometimes suspect in these instances.
When does it overheat when driving, idling, etc.....
Equally important, when does it NOT overheat - highway driving, idling?
You might fill out your profile so we have an idea where you live and why it might be overheating. If you are overheating in North Dakota that is not the same as overheating in Death Valley CA or Phoenix where temps are over 100* all summer long. Running a Dewitts radiator should be enough if your car is tuned correctly and you do not have internal engine issues.
Make sure you use an IR gun to check temperatures of the block, upper and lower tanks of the radiator...don't rely on the car's temperature gauge as the sending units often are not correct (several threads on the topic)
