Default Electronic speedometer

Installed an electronic Tach and Speedometer in my 67 conv nom 1970 350 with 3 speed Trans. Along with the Speedo a Dakoda Sending unit and Pulse Generator was installed. The Speedo was calibrated and runs fine most of the time, however it will occasionally jump around and then go back to the correct speed.
Anyone have any suggestions for a fix.

You can search for my previous posts about my recent bad experience with electronic speedos.
I basically lit on fire several hundred dollars and now have a working just fine mechanical speedometer and a paperweight electronic speedo.
I still have a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing and won't try an electronic speedo again until I hear lots of people singing their praises.
Way too high a failure rate from what I casually observe.
Just my 2 cents...

I run an electric tach in my 65 because the Holley HP fuel injection system requires it, The tach sometimes jumps around at real low RPMs but overall it works flawlessly.

Dennis, I've used the Dakota pulse generator on a stock mechanical speedo and had similar issues. The problem is the cable sometimes "winds up" then releases causing a jump in the needle. I made sure the cable was routed as smooth as possible into the back of the cluster and lubricated. That helped. I've now gone the route of having the speedo upgraded to full electronic in another car. I haven't installed is yet, but expect it to run smoothly.

Is this the pulse generator that plugs into the tranny or the one driven by the cable? If the former, twist the wires and run them as far away from other wiring and the secondary ignition wires as possible. If the latter, see Ken’s note above.
