I recently wrecked my C2. It was a restomod with a 454 crate engine. I had a reputable shop in Richland WA put a new Holley Sniper EFI on it just before I moved to Little Rock in June. It was tuned for WA State but when I got here it started to run poorly, missing at idle and low speeds. The system did not have 100 miles on it. I was driving down the freeway and the engine exploded did two 360s and slammed into a wall at about 70. Now my insurance will not pay for the engine and the body might or might not be totaled. If it is not then I will try for diminished value and will have to put a new engine in it to boot. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do or experience like this. The body is damaged badly, frame bent, body displaced on the frame, left transaxle bent and broken and stress cracks everywhere. I did nothing wrong but drive it.
That's a months long repair so driving the car next summer is doubtful, and you still need to buy an engine because insurance doesn't cover mechanical failures. Totaling the car might be a smarter dollar decision. The shop that did the install probably covers their end in disclaimers on the work order, but a little research into recourse against the shop (for the engine) might be worth a few minutes. But only a few. You'd need pretty tight expert knowledge presented to a judge as to why the Holley caused this damage. Another reason to total the poor girl. Good luck!
I was reading this thread & was thinking the same as you all, But, if it was my car, I would probably be drowning my sorrows in alcohol & be so s**t faced I wouldn't be able to reply. Ya.... copious amounts of alcohol fixes all of life's problems 🙄
