From my vintage memory of 30 yrs back, Super Shifter was the lower grade unit, and Comp Plus is, as labeled for hard use. It's the one most of us use who have converted over. Dennis

Thanks! I've heard that the Comp sits better in the hole than the Super Shifter?
I don't know which one sits better. The Comp Plus, depending on wether you get old used or new, there are two handle shapes. One straight, the other curved, and one bolts in, the other is welded. The straight bolted one is ideal for our cars when it comes time to do any trans removal. Mine is from in the '70's and is straight bolt in. If you prefer that style, rebuild kits are available I understand. Hope this helps! Dennis
From what I remember one has larger shift rods for hard shifting and sticks up out of the floor, I thought that was the super shifter and the comp plus was more like the original, but I think there are slightly different versions of that too
This is a Super Shifter. The shift mechanism [ Comp Plus/ Super ] is essentially the same
What turns a Comp Plus into a Super Shifter, is the elevated mount and the straight rods A Super Shifter in a C2 , requires a Big Hole and cutting away the left side of the console
I have the Competition Plus in my 65. I removed the factory shifter and linkage, set the new linkage up to be the same as the factory linkage so it would install easily and since I have backup lights I had to set up a reverse light switch bracket. For a handle I use a factory look Muncie with Hurst shift levers. It has the T bar handle and it works but it doesn't do anything, it's just spring loaded.
They are available from Corvette reproduction parts companies.
It's kind of funny to watch someone else drive my car who doesn't know it's a Hurst shifter when they try to put it into reverse pulling up on the T bar.
I have owned both. The Super shifter is for racing and will NOT fit without modification. The Comp plus will fit up bolt up and setup properly will give yrs of smooth, fast shifts.

I swapped out both my long term old Vettes for the Comp Plus. You can't break them and they don't rattle like the stock ones do. You'll break your transmission before a Comp Plus!
