Refurnishing my '64 gauges, I see 2wo capacitors, one ,I guess is for the ignition and I bought a replacement. The other is around the light switch, question is what's it for and is it a good idea to replace it? I don't see one that is described on the Corvette vendor parts list that has something to do with lights. Please clue me in.
Unless you're into some super duper judging award, I wouldn't use either of them. They only decrease the pop in the radio when am is being used and the device they are attached to is activated. There's also one on the brake pedal for the stop lights and a few other places

I had one on the brake pedal that the wire came out and was shorting to the Z bar. They are only for radio noise suppression on AM band. I unhooked all of mine. I had to tighten the female terminal after removal of the flag connector for the capacitor to get it to fit the male tightly.
