Default Engine vin identification

Hello , new here and hoping someone can help us figure out the confusion we have on a small block. The casting number seems to be a 1965 to 66 327 but looking at the number on the front of the block that ends in CU everything we read shows it is a 1958 corvette 283 with 270 hp.
front of the block has F0418CU
The casting is 3790721

Well if it’s a 283 Chevy II block is the oil filter recessed into the block further then other Chevy blocks. Can you post a picture of the pad
