Default A/C Control Question

I've been doing a little troubleshooting of my A/C controls and discovered yet another bit of wiring that Bubba has had his hands on. I want to access a switch, part # 3828946 shown as Item #27 on sheet E5 in the C60 section of the AIM. I'm just wanting to find out from someone who has experience with this, if this switch is accessible by removing the glove box before I go needlessly tearing things apart.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks
Ted
Oh, this is a 66 coupe.

That switch sits on top of the heater box, controls the A/C compressor clutch. Pull the glove box for access. Dennis

Thanks Dennis. Exactly what I needed to know. I'll be removing the glovebox sometime this week to find out what Bubba was up to.

You may find that you have or had a bad high speed blower relay. They were only used on factory a/c cars and it may have been done away with.

With the glove box out it would be an idle time to check the operation of the vacuum switch and rebuild if necessary.

If the vacuum switch works don't touch it! There are real finicky to redo and chances of f**ing it up beyond recognition is a real possibility. Ask me how I know. If it does not work of course have at it. The switch operates in a pretty odd way, it does not pass the full vacuum applied to the vac inlet port to the outlet port. So when you test it it may seem like it does not work when it is OK.

I have tested operation of the vacuum portion of the system and it seems to be working fine with the exception of the altitude compensation valve that is attached to the STV. It apparently has a bad diaphragm and I have just blocked that vacuum line for now.
I appreciate the feedback and welcome any words of wisdom.
