I recently changed the dash lights in my 65 coupe to LED and it turned out pretty well.I'm happy with the look and the scrapes and bruises are healed. My question is what light is the little green cap supposed to go on? I found it on the floor when I was finished.
The green lens thing fits over the tip of the slotted 'torpedo' shield for green color heater control illumination; first photo, below. The torpedo shield, in turn, clips to the underside of the clock housing, 6-o'clock position slot; second photo. If you've installed a green BA9S with 5-LEDs into this socket, the tip of the shield must be cut off to accommodate same; last photo.
Wow! What LED did you get to fit in the "torpedo": for the radio/heater control bezels? That looks really bright. I made the same discovery Vark did, so I just kept the regular bulb in there. I didn't want to chop my torpedo housing.
Avispa, if I remember correctly I did not want to chop up the housing so I left an incandescent bulb in there but drilled the small square hole in the top of the housing larger. It was the lesser of two evils.

Fantastic improvement in lighting the cluster instruments, isn't it?
