2023 C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified
My first Corvette. 66’ BB coupe that you could say it needed a little work on the outside.
I bought it from a body shop in Ventura Ca. That was closing and the owner couldn’t afford to fix it.
After cleaning it up, the interior was beautiful. This was in 1980.

My 67 300hp/4 spd in 1968. I'd had just worked many months on oil rigs in Alaska to save $7,600 for grad school. Until I saw this on a fly-by-night used car lot in L.A. and $4K later it was mine. Overpriced, yes, but I was sure one happy guy!

2018 C1 of Year Finalist
I'll play....
My first Corvette was a POS '59 for which I paid $400 in the spring of '69. I owned it for one month after which a fellow offered me $525 which I accepted.
A strong runner, I could do 13.9 in the quarter. I was led to believe that a good boy with a stick could get it down to 13.6.
It had pinque **** carpet and the driver's seat with a loose seat cushion spring which males needed to avoid at all costs. The Hurst shifter was from a passenger car and your elbow would suffer if you tried to do the 1-2 or the 3-4 gear change by gripping the shift ball. Best to grab the shifter near the pivot and change gears there.

'66 L-72
My brothers and I bought the red '74 in August of 1987. We bought the '69 two years later. Me and my first midyear. 1966 L-72 w/ original drive train and window sticker. Some assembly required. Summer of 1995. Where has the time gone?

Bought the 1977 just after I turned 19, fall of 1978. I've been blessed to have owned 15 others since then, even tried to find the original one. No success so I made one of my current cars to be a clone of the original one.

My '62, as it was purchased from Australian rock singer Jimmy Barnes (ex Cold Chisel front man) in the early '90s. Car had been imported to Australia in the mid '80s. Had a Corvettes or Arkansas decal on the windshield, but efforts to trace the history through that club proved in vain. Several different shaded of red on red, hardtop only (had an ill-fitting soft-top frame from an MG). 350, 4 speed.
Fresh from the bead-blasters, starting my rebuild in '96. Discovered the car was originally fawn beige. Also discovered that several people (probably named Bubba) had previously Humpty-Dumptied the car together some time during it's colorful life.
20 months (many man-hours of labor) later. Rebuilt the engine as a 383. Loved that car.

An all original '81 which I bought in '99. I took it to Bloomington and received the Survivor Award in '01.
I later sold it and bought a '90 black on black 6-speed into which I swapped a 427 small block...

My first Vette was a 1970 with a 454 all original (No Pics). Traded a 1957 2door 6cyl automatic for it. Sold it and bought this 1970 one owner 350 300hp for $5000.00 off a dentist's wife. (All back in 1980 to 1982).

I've posted this before, but since you ask (I only have about 5 pics of the car when I owned it altogether). It was my first car ever, not just my first Vette.
