Default 1954 Corvette engine stamp

Any help decoding this number? The seller states it’s the original engine but the car is an automatic and I’m finding the 54z is for a manual. Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate the quick responses and help. Just wanted to confirm what I’ve been reading on a couple sites. Now have to break the news to the seller who thinks it’s the original engine.

The stamp on the motor is good but just not Corvette
ALL 54 Corvettes are suffix F54YG - ALL
F is for Flint and YG is a for Corvette
The stamp is original - the first 5 characters are gang stamped and the next two are individually stamped
The F54Z in this case is also gang stamped and is tilted to the right
Also check the head - the head should be a 241 - if it is not - it is not a Corvette head - the number is on the drivers side by the valve cover
The block should be a 911 block - casting number is down by the fuel pump

Default '54 Engine Stamp ends in Y. Why?

My '54 engine stamp is 0121 604T54Y. It ends in Y and not YG. Anyone have an explanation? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Chuck,

In your opinion, is this consistent with a 54 corvette?
