I bought a 67 corvette is there a way to tell what 67 corvette I have it has the 6500 rpm tach the 80 psi oil pressure gauge I have the vin and the other tag can someone tell me by this information
The VIN and Trim tags don't tell you anything about the engine. You need to post a photo of the engine stamp pad. That is on top of the block at the front of the passenger side cylinder head.
The two letter suffix on the stamp pad on the engine would tell you what the motor was. If it is a big block car, the 6500 RPM tach is an indicator that it may have been an L71.
Is the fuel tank original to the car? If so, it may still contain the original build sheet glued to the top. If you are lucky you may be able to see it by removing the boot around the fuel filler and looking with a flashlight and small mirror.
Without the original block or the build sheet (tank sticker), there's no way of knowing what engine the car came with. There are some clues, things like the tach, the rear stub axles, the type of radiator, etc, but any and all of them are easily changed.
Neither the trim tag or VIN tag identify the engine.
The VIN decodes as:
