Is it possible to remove the valve covers on a '63 fuelie without removing the injection unit?? I tried on the passenger side and cannot get the cover to clear the fuel meter. Haven't tried, but there doesn't seem to be room by the air meter either. Any tips??

Both valve covers can be removed. On the drivers side you have to remove the air meter adapter that the bellows is attached to and the 90 * elbow of the air cleaner.
The passenger side should just come off after you remove the 4 screws that hold it on. A little body english may be needed on both sides.
If you have the oem manual maint and repair manual it explains it there.
