Well the engine is in. :D Did the deed yesterday by muself in a couple hours. One thing I found out was that the engine don't wanna go in with the fuel pump installed. :cry I had to make a choice of removing the pass side engine mount or the fuel pump and chose the latter. Gotta go get a new gasket now and hook up lotsa stuff but hopefully it'll be ready to fire by the weekend. Still got the new headers to install and am expecting problems there also but it's early in the year, so lotsa time left to fix it. Just an update.....
Did you go with the Dynomax headers? What kind of problems are you expecting? Or do you just know that something will pop up, just not sure what.
Steve
Hehe, I have the ceramic coated headers. I haven't installed them yet, just expecting problems. Others here on the forum who have used them said they fit right on. Sorry to be so pessemistic but with these old cars I've just grown to expect problems. If I do not have a fitment problem....all the better. I did put them on the engine for a temp fit and they were perfect, but the engine was on a stand........looked great though. :yesnod:
Watch out for the steering damper, I had trouble with mine getting in the way with two different sets of headers. Yeah, I've banged up a fuel pump before getting the engine in; however it did get in! My engine is out too right now. I figure I'll put the fuel pump in last also. Thanks for reminding me!

Thanks for the input frank, I do have the dampner installed so I'll watch out for fit in that area. The car was originally a FI and it didn't originally come with the unit, I just put it on 'cause I could. If it's in the way I'll just take it off again. One thing I've noticed over the years is that Chevy's respond well to chrome. There's definately a HP corrulation IMO. I bent my new lower chrome pully pushing the engine back  . I hate losing the 5hp it's gonna cost me if I can't straighten it out. Strange that F##ds do not respond as well to this phenomenon. Any one else notice this? :chevy
