Never knew about this option.
Although the article states this option was available on the full line of Chevrolets, I've never heard that the Corvette had it? Interesting: Liquid Tire Chain Was Pure GM Innovation (motorious.com)

This option was from the very late 1960s - early 1970s. It was supposedly available on Camaros, Chevelles and full-size Chevys - but it's very rare. I don't believe it was ever available on the Corvette.

Liquid Tire Chain was a one year only option, and was available full size Chevy's, Chevelle's, Camaro's and Nova's, but not on the Corvette. I don't believe it went over well, or had many takers, which is probably why it was dropped for 70. I don't know that GM really promoted it much either.

I actually saw a 69 Camaro with this one time. A friend and I were in a Kansas junk yard sourcing Camaro parts and saw a rusty hulk with this. I wish now I would have grabbed it for the garage wall art.

Funny article; I never heard of it either...sounds to me like an idea Raytheon, General Dynamics, or some other defense contractor would try to sell as a capability on a light wheel infantry vehicle (which would likely never work) but the Gov'ment would buy into. Funny that it describes the idea like this, "Contained in those canisters was a polymer developed in the wonders of the space age, designed to make the tire tread pliable enough to grip the cold, slippery surface again." "space age".

I've known about it but never actually saw a Chevy regardless of model with the option.
The Camaro picture has also turned up from time to time on the internet.
