Default seat hinges

restoring my '67 seats i already ordered at CC new bolts. ( and head rests ) .... but didn't find a new hinge kit available . Thought to have mine rechromed as a option .
Now i see the hinge bolts shoulder is way smaller then the hinge holes ? holes 1/2" ( 12.7 mm ) and the bolts 11 mm...is this right ? so much play ?

Does any vendor has a new '67 hinge kit available ? Not CC , not Paragon...

thanks for any info !

I just checked mine, and you are correct, the hole is 1/2" (12.7 mm) and the shoulder on the bolt is 7/16" (11.125mm). There appears to be no wear on the bolts nor holes as the chrome is still there.
My guess is the hockey sticks do not sit squarely on the bolts and need the clearance (play) to allow the seat back to fold forward. If it were a tight fit, the bolt to the seat would bind in the hole of the hockey stick due to the seat back not being perfectly perpendicular to the bolt. This seems to be a necessary evil on GM seats as the pins and hockey sticks on my 68RS also have a considerable amount of clearance. I haven't searched the vendor sites for new hockey sticks, so can't help you there.
Just my $.02.

@R66 , yes could be a reason , as the sticks are a bit angled between seat bottom and back. Even with a washer under them.

What i have is the seat backs are a bit slanted to the seat bottoms. Can't find out what's the reason.... could be that the seats frame is a bit deformed by the years use ? and they are both that way . I would have expected only on the drivers seat ...
That's also why i thought the play in the hinge bolts had to do something with it .

The sticks were a bit deformed at the bend so i hammered them flat but still that slanting back/bottom.

Are these what you're referring to?
