Default C2 price range

Hi All,
Trying to get an idea on price range for a 1964 coupe 327/300 automatic power steering power brakes power window and working factory AC. Car was originally black but is now silver.
Everything works as it should except the clock. Born with drive train. Has bolt on knock off wheels. Car is above average driver. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Also what should the automatic shifter look like this one has a short chrome stick with a silver ball like a 4 speed.

Most any C2 in the condition you describe with a good frame and good birdcage will bring $50k. JMHO.

What is the condition of the body and the paint? If excellent maybe $55k-ish. If fair condition, $45k.

Number match with working factory air, plus PS/PB? If it looks nice $50-55 all day.

Even with the wrong color, that code 900 trim tag has residual value.

More older guys leaning towards automatics, too.

What we think it's worth and what you will most likely have to pay if you really want it are two entirely different price points.
Before this latest price surge IMCO between 45-50K if it's a nice as you described. Now my guess is 55K+.
Good luck and make sure you or have someone familiar with these cars check it out thoroughly.

I have the same car as you described. Matching numbers, NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold. I'm figuring 65K for mine. The shifter should have a black **** for an early car and a chrome **** for later car. My car is an October 63 build and it has a black ****.

If not rusty, 50k is the bottom, (with inflation maybe 60K) automatic is not the negative it used to be. I'm nor Powerglide fan but that can be fixed with a newer transmission. Take it from me, a 327/300 really comes alive with a three or four speed automatic.

I just did a search on 64's today and saw a ton of hacked up, wrong motor, non factory color asking prices were all in the mid 60's range, which I thought off. Many were in the 70s & 80's, which I know are people's wish prices, but these were mostly dealers & they weren't really nice looking cars either. Newer seats in them, sidepipes (like mine) lol
I was pretty surprised to see this. i think if its a coupe, id start at $65k, and see what happens, if these dealers can ask it, so can you. Let all the 65, 66, & 67 owners raise their prices cuz their disk brakes are just so valuable.

These are Hagerty's Jan.'23 numbers on a '64 L75 Coupe...
#2 excellent condition..$61,900
#3 good..$40,300. They show about a 13% drop from a year ago.
Minus 10% for the powerglide, but add $8k for the air.

I think autos came with a chrome **** in '64, but I'm a C3 guy....what do I know....

I have a nice driver quality ‘64 327/300 roadster with Powerglide. Above average condition for a driver, looks very correct, but NOM and re-frame. I paid $39k in ‘21.

It’s tough to ask a value here with all the 64 haters still around they don’t remember when the 66 were hated just as much as the 64 that was 30 years ago wake up! they don’t want to hear that 64 is a great car. We recently sold a 64 Aircoupe project car that needed everything for $39,000. So when you see prices like $45,000 for a good one they have no idea what they’re talking about. A 64 Aircoupe in the condition that you are explaining is anywhere from $57-$67,000. As long as it is a good body chassis and birdcage

I don't think that's the case at all. I realize the '64 doesn't have the "cool" factor of the first year C-2s, nor the refinement of a 67. And that IS sometimes reflected in price comparisons. But of all the members who post here, past and present, I can't think of a single one who could be labeled a "64 hater". I think we're all pretty supportive of ALL C-2s even if it's a year which would not be our first choice.

And FWIW, my unofficial list of '64s owned by forum members is now up to 162 cars. Since some members only post occasionally, I'd bet the actual number is well over 200.

It's not my habit to intrude, furthermore, I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued, but I'll repeat myself at the risk of being crude: Consider me a hard core 67 guy, but the 64 is a very, very close second, love them especially in Saddle tan or Daytona blue.

Providing the conditon description is accurate I think the 50k estimates are pretty low. I think 60k-70k is realistic. There are plenty of c2 guys getting up in age looking for that geezermoblie with auto, air, power steering etc. The 64 model is respected now more than ever.

I have owned a 64 coupe for 20+ years and have been a member of this forum almost as long. I am 75 years old and will be faced with selling in the future ( not now so don’t ask) so I have been watching completed sales on BAT, ebay and other online auctions. Your estimate of $57-67 is pretty much in line with what I have observed. As to 1964 bias, it is still there but not as prevalent as it was 20 years ago!
cheers
Steve
