Looking for some help on wiring diagram.. My 66 is untouched stock. I have a 5 wire ignition with a yellow that shows up on no diagram. Even Lectric Limited is no help. They say they have no clue. It traces to the fuse panel. Does anyone have a correct diagram for this car?
There is no stock "5 wire" ignition in a 66. and definitely no yellow wire anywhere near the ignition. The only yellow wires that are under the hood are one for the wire motor and one for the headlight bucket motors.
If you have factory ignition (not transistorized), then the only wires are a double 16 gauge pink to the coil + terminal and one side of the ballast resistor, a black wire from the distributor to the coil - terminal and a 16 gauge pink wire through the firewall grommet to the other side of the ballast resistor. That wire goes to the IGN terminal of the ignition switch.

You say that "it traces to the fuse panel?" Are you saying that it goes from the ignition switch to the fuse panel?
Which position does it terminate on the ignition switch?
Which fuse does it terminate on the fuse panel?
Is all else fails, voltage test it through all ignition switch positions.
From here (I don't have a '66 wiring diagram which apparently doesn't have your mystery wire, and mine's a '65) you've got a Bubba system which means no one here will have an answer, but might be able to help with more and better details.
Lost...Welcome to the Corvette Forum. You may already have these but if not, along with the GM 66 Service Manual, it helps to have around the AIM, Assembly Instruction Manual. It'll have exploded drawings and part numbers of
most of the Corvette including wiring diagrams. Unfortunately, the print quality of most AIMs these days are mediocre but they are a help anyway.

I misspoke. The yellow wire goes into the main loom and I don't want to cut it open to trace, thus the question. Not into the fuse box. I am pretty confident this is an original switch. Weird? I am new to forums and computer challenged so not sure how to post a picture. the back of the switch for the yellow wire, top center, reads SOL so thinking starter solenoid? Also has large letter D-R. The other terminals are top right, ACC, right, GRD, bottom center 1-ING, middle left BAT. I may have just solved this question. I have also had a lot of problems finding 257 internally flashing dashboard turn signal bulb from any parts houses. So, here's a hint for other C2 owners. ( Lionel Train.) Has any one ever heard of rumored GM program for Corvettes for Blue Angel pilots. I have traced my original owner of this Nassau Blue, white interior to a Blue Angel pilot, delivered in San Diego. Thanks members for your response. I am NCRS 5909.
The sol wire should be purple, what color is the other end of the wire at your starter solenoid? It should also be purple. The only single yellow wires close by go from the wiper switch to the wiper motor and the heater fan motor switch on the center console that runs over to the heater fan resistor on the passenger side. If your ignition switch has a yellow wire connected to it, then it is not as original as you supposed.
Lost - that's where I found the #257 bulbs too, as replacements for Lionel Trains and the price is fair, as I recall.
Good work locating your Vettes original owner. Since you are also an NCRS member, have you gotten the Shipping Report yet, telling you where it was originally sold?
