Bolt on Knock Offs - Best Vendor
A buddy of mine is looking to replace his knock offs (western wheel?) for his 1964 with some bolt ons. He is a get in the car and drive (then call me when it doesnt start) kind of guy so the lead hammer and checking them is probably not best for him. The car is a relatively new purchase. It used to be that some vendors had more 'correct' versions of the paint color and spline size than others. What is the best place for reproduction knock offs now a days or are they all the same?

It's too much information to type all over again, but if you'll go to "Google" and enter "C2 bolt on knockoff wheel, Corvette Forum" you can read all about the difference in the two manufacturers available and how the spinners mount differently. They externally look the same and cost the same. I recommend the wheels made by Corvette America and sold by almost all the usual vendors available. There are dozens of threads from the Forum that will show up if you make sure you add "Corvette Forum" in the search. They all end up the same way, two views each choosing their preference.

FWIW its worth these are all made in China or one of its neighbors now.
If it were me I would seek out a used made in USA set.

Two manufacturers for KO repro wheels…….Corvette America or America’s Finest. The bolt-on CA knock off style wheels, China produced as they are when I received them in 2011 were flawless. I could find no fault in quality. Virginia Vettes was the supplier. From what I remember there was mention of something like 99% of KO repro wheels VV sold are BO style.
Also, the inner hub that supports the spinner on the BO style KO wheel is more robust in the CA design than what AF offers. There was a thread here recently with pics showing the difference between the two.
