The one towards the front was held in place by removing the ashtray insert and trimming a piece of 2x4 wood to fit the recess and running a wood screw through the bottom of the plastic cup holder base into the wood. Easy to pull out when you don’t want it there and held the cup holder with two beverages securely.
Just in for an oil change. They looked at it, knew what the problem was right away, ordered the console and will be replacing it. I think they said it’s about a 2 hour job.
Seems a lot for a button issue, but will be nice to have it replaced and not have the issue any longer.
