Default dash pad skin

Has anyone installed a dash pad skin or has anyone seen the finished product ? I'm thinking of saving some $ and going with the skin .

They do OK for a driver, but are not as good as originals or repros. Because they go over the existing pad, they look a little puffy.

My advice is to forget about the skins. I tried to re-skin my pads and the results were so poor I went out and bought reproduction pads to install instead.

Just an update on the dash pad thread . I decided to buy a repo and forget the skin . I was stumped on how to remove the old pads until I called the local corvette parts house . I would have never figured out how to get those little clips out . (insert screwdriver , twist to spread, and pull out with needle nose pliers ) . Now I'm waiting for the new ones to show up . Painted the dash while they are out . It Looks GOOD ! [IMG][/IMG]

Depending on the damage and what look you are after, you can always tuck and roll the edge of the pad for less than the repops.

P.S. You can see the effect in my Details link of my homepage (below). The best part was I did not have to take the dash apart to install the rolled edge.
