i bought a new PS pump from Borgeson , but now the pulley is to much forward , about 10 mm .
Is there a pulley that runs more inward ?
I could shim the alternator , but here "waterpump to PS pump" i cannot do anything .
There is a 7 mm high boss inside the pulley center.... i will remove that ( lathe) and see if it get's "acceptable" in line . That should be already a lot better.
I’m having the exact same problem. Adding PS to the 63. I ordered a 3 groove crank pulley and a 3 groove water pump pulley from Summit. Also a 2” fan spacer. Should get parts today.
i got it perfect .... think i removed 7 mm of that inside boss on the pulley.
And... the new nut delivered on the pump is really crap , nylon locking part and at max 3 steel threads ! so if you put your 7/8" wrench on it , it's already to late., don't ask me how i know....
lucky i had my original nut of course , all steel with on top a steel locking part.
Tomorrow i go for a new belt , the old one doesn't seem "fresh" to me.
I like the setup that at least the waterpump is driven with 2 belts ! one can loose PS and alternator but still on the road for a bit of time ... ignition will drain the battery in the end.
Never seen this on a Europe car.
I was once at Spa Francorchamps with my Pantera ( Cleveland engine ) when it happened. I thought i could drive home without alternator.... needed 3 batteries to cover the 150 miles.

Ya, I've had to limp a couple of cars home on battery power as well. Fortunately, I was always close enough to home that one battery did the job.
On a different subject, I use to follow you on the Cobra forum but haven't been on there much since I sold my Cobra. You were preparing a 928 for rally racing the last I remember. Did you get it finished and have you competed with it ?
Ted
Ted, the rally 928 is almost finished... i sold my historic BMW and making plans to compete with the Porsche . But no hurry , as you see i bought a C2 for family cruising ( instead of the sold Morgan ) .
I do like wrenching in the garage as much as driving those oldies
Glad to hear that the 928 is coming along. I didn't know that you sold the Morgan but I've been following your posts since you bought the Corvette. That Corvette has to be a pretty rare sight in Belgium. Hope you get it all sorted out and enjoy it.
Yes, I follow a lot of Dan's posts on here as well. He has a lot of knowledge to share.
thanks Ted , i didn't make the link to Cobra forum seeing your posts.
Yes, very rare in Belgium... seen only 3 on pics ! of classic car meetings with Belgian license plates and recent one for sale at a car show.
Never seen one on the road . I will change that
PS my original plan was to buy a Cobra...but it was to small/primitive for us. And problems with registration here.....now very happy with the C2 of which i think as a "big" Cobra with some more lux.
