Default Sales thread question

Is it considered bad form to highjack someone else's sales thread?

I have a thread and sold the items, but I indicated that I would soon have another one or two of the items to sell. A forum member asked that I let him know when I have another one to sell. Another forum member commended that he had one for sell and was sending a PM to the person asking to buy one from me.

This not something that I personally would do, but maybe it just rubbed my the wrong way.

The person should not have posted on your thread but imho it would be ok the send a PM to the buyer asking.

I agree that it's not the best form, but not to defend the interloper, many people are not terribly inter webs/forum savvy.

It is not only bad form to hijack another member’s sales thread, it is specifically in conflict with site rules. Please review those rules for details, although not all scenarios are listed. The fact is, any sort of hijacking, whether it’s undermining a sales ad by soliciting respondents or any other sort of interference is unacceptable, rude and is disrespectful to the OP. Occasions of hijacking should be reported to staff by using the Report Post function, as in any case of rule violations.

That issue has been addressed.

However, for the record, it is also bad form and against site rules to start a public thread to ask questions about the administration of the site. If you have a question about site rules and policy, please contact a section Moderator or and Administrator by PM:
Complaints, Suggestions & Questions

If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum, questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.
