Agreed! No real clue on the shelf life, but the stuff in the tube is still squishy. Years since I've used it, but I remember that it readily flowed into threads but didn't tend to run and make a mess. I liked it.

Apparently I was wrong about SBC head bolts not going thru to water. I just used the lubricant ARP supplies and none are leaking after a year. It appears to be more of a lubricant than a sealant.

Red Vert you are not the first nor will you be the last to install those head bolts with no sealant. Some do leak so just be aware and don't panic. If you have to pull your valve covers some day you could R&R the bolts and be golden. Not sure why some leak and some don't but they are supposed to be sealed. Watch your coolant, if it starts to need some added you know where to look for the leak.
