Default Ignition shield question

Attempting to install 327 distributor top ignition shield LH bracket. Have a base 327 300 HP with Winters intake.
Picture shows where I assume to attach bracket using the intake bolt. When I did a test fit the bracket it's angled 45 degrees, rather than straight up to attach to the shielding where the bolt attaches.
Hope that makes sense.
I think I have the right location to attach the bracket. The bracket is for a 66L-67 327..
Perhaps the Winters intake needs a different bracket.
The drawings from the manual are vague about the attachment of this piece.

Perhaps your shielding bracket is bent incorrectly at that lower 2 or 2-1/2" segment? The hook at the bottom should index into the small cast pocket of your intake, just above the bolt hole in your first photo. The L'66-'67 indicates that the bracket includes a small tab to hook one of the 2 return springs that were used on powerglide cars in late '66, '67. It has no function on your car. Here's a couple photos, but they're not very descriptive.

That's the exact photo I needed. I'll need to bend the bracket.
Thank you sooo much vark_wso!!!!
