ignition switch
Has anyone taken apart an ignition switch on a c-1 ? My switch works fine, but one of the rivets that hold the connector spades is loose, if i take it apart and tighten the rivet or replace it , it will save me $$$ any suggestions

I had my 577 switch rebuilt after it shorted out. The tabs on the case need to be bent out out using gentle heat and some TLC. After getting the tabs bent out the guts of the switch can be acessed. In my case the guts were burnt out and I needed a donor switch. I used the guts from a 58-59 switch. as the replacment. Having replaced the guts from the donor switch , gently heat the tabs on the case and gently bent them back into position. There was an article in the NCRS Restorer that explained the steps to restore the switch. Vol 27 # 3

I used a propane torch with a low flame. Be very careful as the case is a zinc casting. and the temperature range from bendable to broken is very narrow.. As for donor switch candidates one can use for 577 switch's are as follow
