Default Valve Cover Identification

Hello,
As I clean out my left over C2 spare parts, Ive come across a set of valve covers that came with the purchase of my 67 427 390hp 7-8 years back. I believe the block is actually a 69 Corvette block. I never attempted to put them on as I preferred the original orange style, and the assumption is they would’ve fit. Does anyone know a way to identify their proper motor fit?

Here are pictures of them in case that helps. I plan to list them as soon as I know what they are for sure.

Thank you in advance for your expertise.

Scott

I believe these are correct for Chevelle Camaro and maybe others in at least the 1967 to 1969 timeframe.

68-69 427 corvettes got chrome covers too. Along with the 67 L89. With over 300 different 65-74 BB valve covers it may be hard to narrow it down. Plus some repro parts houses make a generic chrome covers that are not correct for anything.

I'm very much interested in them for my '72 (not originally chrome but I like the look). The repro covers I have now aren't great.

Thx for the help all. I’m pretty sure they were picked up at a swap meet or side deal by the cars previous owner - not really 100% sure though. I’ve recently sold the car, new owner didn’t want them so I’ll be selling them. I wanted to have a bit more specifics, such as you all have provided, to be able to list them.

thank you again.

With the sloped corner in the rear of the left hand cover, they're Corvette covers, and not Chevelle, Camaro, etc. The slope is there to clear the PB booster on Corvettes, and wasn't needed on the covers used on other Chevrolet's.

They look like early (first design) 68 Corvette covers to me. The later, second design 68-69 covers had a less pronounced indent for the booster. Also, those covers take a twist on oil cap, so they can't be 70 and later covers, which used a black rubber push in cap. If they are the first design 68 cavers, then they were also used on aluminum head 67's.

Glen Chevelles got a slant too. 65-66 where small and 67 where bigger
