I don't get this sort of spin-out -- I've seen it with a lot of modern Mustangs and young guys driving exotics. What is happening? Have they corrected for the slide but then let off the gas too abruptly and not recentered the steering fast enough?

Maybe there should be a test before you are allowed to drive a C2 in public.

He wasn't straight when he nailed it. That started the whole tail wagging and he overcorrected leading to the porch crash. Bad judgment!

If that was an L72 or L78, the first half of throttle pedal through is tame but the second half is like a bat out of hell! Clearly, not experienced in the second half!

Does anyone know who that was? Or can it be revealed in public?

Have to wonder if being habituated to cars of the last 25 years which correct throttle inputs for you is a contributor. I've said for a long time that people driving cars and not getting a good scare from being dumb at lower throttle input than they thought will be more dangerous in the long run.

I'm no racer, but he got off the throttle when he was over correcting and still sideways. That's just bad luck. I hope everyone is OK - the car should be repairable.

Absolutely a product of putting the hammer down before he got the wheels straight. I learned those lessons well with my modern Z06's and Viper. Horsepower and poor driving skills is a dangerous combination. Respect the power.

Exactly. He unloaded the back to the front, producing the "shock" that you do not want. What an idiot. I am surprised he didn't take out a telephone pole.

Not to defend the vette driver, bc he has no excuse, but late model Mustangs at least have a horrible throttle lag problem. You push the gas and not a lot happens, but all of a sudden the servo opens the throttle fast and without warning or pedal feedback. Better hope your wheels are straight. I've had mine do that to me at 70, 80 on the freeway, and dang if the tires don't start to spin. Modern problems. Direct mechanical throttles didn't do that.

If your L72 gives you a delayed throttle reaction do that you get a "second half " kick in the pants, you have the wrong spring in the secondary vacuum servo. They're not supposed to do that.

Another example of what can occur when talent lacks sufficient funds to cover the check that ego has just written.

Live well,

That fella clearly had never gassed that car, or any car, to that level before...and t seems he didn't realize there is a brake pedal until way too late. If you are going to do something redneck, you should practice it alone first. Maybe he had a few beers at the event...
