I have a WCFB on my 283 230hp 1960 Vette. I have seen several cars with one one the bolts that hold the carb on the intake manifold ised as a vacuum source. None of my bolts have that.
I can buy a bolt to replace one of the existing ones that has a hole. My question is how do I determine if the bolt I remove goes all the way into the intake manifold as a vacuum source or just tapped in enough to hold the bolt to fasten the carb?

You can pull a carburetor stud and poke a wire down in the hole to see if it goes into the manifold. For engines that used the hollow stud, I think it was the left rear stud, so I'd start there.
