I replaced the original 4.11 my '63 Z06 tanker came from the factory with, with a 4.56 unit, and I like it much better for street cruising and stop light Grand Prix driving.
Gary;
Thank You for the details! .... How did you shim the case to the carrier?; old stock early shims or the shim pack and surface grind for the "Final" [pattern plus pre-load]
I apologise if I am being a bit nosy........The old stuff is gone for sure. Great workmanship!
Aloha,
Rene'
PS, Did the ARP ring bolts have the proper shoulder?

I used the original case and the gears came from a friend who had them laying around his garage for years, not sure what C2 year they were, but all works fine.
I would love to see a You Tube video doing your handywork on these diffs. I think Forum members would agree that it would be an interesting narrative and very instructive.
I bought some of Tom's gears just in case while they were still available a few years back. My intent on the 63 fuelie was to send the rear and the steering box to you on that car and have you do both. But once I went through the car, it turned out both were in fine order. Before you retire someday, I will definitely have you rebuild them.
