Default Automatic transmission fluid

I looked through the past threads on this subject but could find no definitive answer to what is the best transmission fluid to use for the 1965 Powerglide.
The TYPE "A" recommended is no longer available. According to several past threads the newer Dexron VI is backwards compatible to all previous versions
including the TYPE "A".
Has anyone had real world experience with this Dexron VI or some other type of fluid that works best in this transmission?

O'Reilly's apparently still sells this in their store brand as well as Valvoline Brand

Yea, that ATF posted above is fine. The GM PG is nothing special as far as fluid. When I had my Trans shop I use to buy bulk ATF 250-300 gal at a time and we used it in everything except Honda's, Chrysler 604's and a few rare models. The bulk I bought then was Dexron/Mercon III, IV whatever it was.

This is what I use in mine: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Valvoline...1&gclsrc=3p.ds
That is Valvoline's replacement for Type A
Seems to work fine.
