Default Corvette Transport

I am excited to have just purchased the '64 Vette that I purchased from the original owner in 1985. Now, I need to have it transported from Janesville, Wis to Louisville, Ky. Can someone recommend a transporter with an enclosed trailer?

So you owned it before, and now bought it back? Very cool! Lots of us have a car (or cars) from the past we'd love to get back.

Any chance you could make a road trip out if it, and drive it home instead? That would be memorable!

Have you thought about just renting a trailer and go pick it up yourself?

Looks like an easy over-night, or a long single day trip.

Seems to me it would be much easier and no middleman to deal with.

You purchased the car in 1985 and you are just now shipping it? In any event, don't base your choice on price alone. Use one of the known shippers. They will take better care of your car and they have good insurance if something happens.

I purchased it from the original owner in 1985. It had 11,000 miles and was 100% factory original. I also had a '63 that I had purchased from the original owner that was 100% factory original. I sold both in 1986. I lost all my paperwork. All I had was a few photos. I have greatly regretted selling both. I have been searching for both, but didn't have anything except the memories. Recently while looking on Bring A Trailer, I recognized my '64 but it had already been sold. Long story short, I spent a few weeks running down the buyer, persuaded him to sell it to me. It is an NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, Survivor and Benchmark. Factory original paint, interior, etc. It now has 24,000 miles and the odometer works.

I have trailered boats over the years. I am now 74. I have never trailered a car, nor do I have a suitable pulling vehicle. I think that I am wise to leave this to an experienced professional.

Great story! I meant drive the car itself home, but with what you say about it I totally understand why you'd want to have it shipped. (We love pics....just saying...) Amazing you were able to find it again and glad you were able to buy it back.

I've used Montway quite a bit on cars purchased online. https://www.montway.com/
You can specify enclosed trailer.

I just used a real good guy to have a 64 coupe shipped from California, but he was local out there, his prices were competitive with what Montway quoted but I am not sure he would be a good choice in the midwest.

I had a friend of who towed my boat that made arrangements for someone that he trusts to pick it up today ad deliver it tomorrow. Wow!

I will post some photos at some time.

Thanks for all the great recommendations.

Pycar is good also--they transported the new to me 2022 718 Boxster GTS from CA to East TX, arrived Wed after Labor Day--enclosed and was less than Reliable and InterCity.

Reliable does a good job. I used them a year ago for a car that I had air-shipped from England. They picked it up in Chicago and had it in my driveway the next day.

Dan, I just used broker Chris Little @ Wholesale Express Transport 480-612-5192 for my ‘65 picked up in Iowa and delivered to my address in So Cal. on Saturday. He connected me with Masney transport who did an excellent job. Reasonable rate of $2350.

Call Bill Squires. He hauled my '61 Corvette for me and did a fantastic job. Super communication throughout the whole process. Plus he lives in the general area where you need the hauling done so maybe he can squeeze you in for a quick run.

Much thanks for your recommendation. I have already secured a transporter. My Vette is to be delivered this afternoon.

Just used Montway to ship my new to me 56 bird x-country. Had no issues with them. All went well. Very good pricing.. almost a $grand less than anyone else.
