Default Front window

On my 66 roadster it can with a/c. All windows are tinted. Heres the question. The front window has the sun shade across the top of the window and it is yellow. A friend of mine put in a new window in his non-a/c car. his color was blue tint. Did they make 2 colors or was the a/c cars using the yellow tint?

No Corvette windshield ever had a yellow tint; the bluish-green tint was the only only shade offered; they were made by L-O-F, and the logo reads from the inside, and says "SHADED SOFT-RAY", and the tint band is narrower in the center than it is at the ends, with a gradual transition from the tinted area to the clear area below it. Reproduction windshields have a constant-width tinted band all the way across, and a very sharply-defined transition line between the tinted and clear area.

Never heard of a yellow window, but...

Find the "LOF" (glass manufacturer) logo etched in the lower corner of the windshield and look for a two letter code there; the first letter of that code is the month of manufacture, and the second letter should be a year code of "A" (1965) or a "J" (1966).

If your glass does not have that LOF logo, or if the code doesn't end in A or J, then the windshield has been replaced at some point, and probably is not the same as the original would have been.
