Ah, the firing order should be right on the intake (most old Chevys) 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Just figure out where no 1 is and go from there in a clockwise direction.

i guess I wasn't very clear in my post. I'm looking for where the #1 spark plug wire attaches to the distributor.
